Just as with X12 Version 4010 and with the National Provider Identifier (NPI), we are working diligently to deliver solutions that enable our customers to seamlessly meet the new requirements for X12 Version 5010, NCPDP D.0, and ICD-10. Emdeon is publishing updated gap analyses for the transaction code sets to reflect the Errata once they are adopted by CMS. Like all of our other documentation on HIPAASimplified.com, these updated gap analyses will be available to download for free. Visitors only need to type in their email addresses, and you’ll be able to pick from our vast library of documentation.

HIPAA 5010 Update
New Data Center
In 2010 Emdeon transitioned our South Windsor, CT data center operations to our state-of-the-art facility in Memphis, TN. The new location contains 15,000 square feet (raised floor), Tier 3+ and comes equipped with dual generators, dual-path wiring, diverse data communications carriers, a dedicated 24/7 support staff and many other features designed to ensure continuity of service. Along with the latest security features and additional capacity we now have a fully redundant processing environment to minimize the possibility of business interruption.

Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA)
An electronic Remittance Advice (ERA) is an electronic transaction that enables providers to receive claim payment information electronically.
With Emdeon’s ERA service you can improve your office workflow and productivity by knowing which claims have been paid an in what amount. By receiving you’re your EOB information electronically you can process secondary claims much faster and shorten the number of days your receivables are outstanding. Also, you can quickly search, view or print each remittance as needed. In conjunction with a practice management system, the ERA information can be interpreted within your software and facilitate posting to the patients account. Emdeon ePayment/ Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT)
